3rd US-Japan Workshop on Ultra-Intense Laser-Plasma and Beam Plasma Interactions

November 23 and 24, 2008
Austin, Texas

The US-Japan Joint Institute for Fusion Theory is announcing the Third US-Japan Workshop on Ultra-Intense Laser-Plasma and Beam-Plasma Interactions. The focus of this Workshop is on the applications of lasers, particle beams, and plasmas to inertial fusion, plasma-based accelerators, high energy density physics, and inertial confinement fusion. The Workshop will take place on November 23 - 24, 2008 in Austin, Texas, at the newly constructed AT&T Executive Education and Conference Center on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin. It will immediately follow the APS-DPP meeting in Dallas. Guided tours of the recently commissioned Texas Petawatt Laser will be offered. This workshop will run in parallel with another US-Japan Workshop on MHD Control, Magnetic Islands and Rotation.
